Jess

Jess is the newest member to our team in November 2017. Jess is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and is working towards becoming a Sports Dietitian. You may have met Jess at Busso 70.3 last year at our expo stand or at the HBF Run for a Reason expo.

Background

Jess’s experience in Dietetics extends across a range of nutrition and health issues, including gastrointestinal health, chronic disease management (eg: Diabetes) and weight management. Jess is also working in the clinical setting and has gained experience in mental health, rehabilitation, respiratory and malnutrition.

Claire is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and an Accredited Sports Dietitian.

Background

Claire has an extensive background graduating with a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics from Flinders Uni, SA in 2006 and later completed the Post Graduate Diploma of Sports Nutrition through the International Olympic Committee in 2014. Claire’s undergrad degree was a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) giving her a depth of understanding into all that is sport. Claire’s experience in Dietetics extends across a range of nutrition and health issues, including Bariatric surgery, eating disorders, diabetes, IBS and food intolerances, and sports nutrition.

Claire has been involved as a competitor, coach and in other roles in a wide range of sports.

Simone

Simone Allen is an Accredited Practising Dietitian, an Advanced Sports Dietitian and was a Board Member of Sports Dietitians Australia for11 years.

Simone works with several sporting groups including being the Sports Dietitian for West Coast Eagles and Triathlon WA. Simone is also lecturing in Exercise and Sports Nutrition at Curtin Uni.

Background

Simone was a Rhythmic Gymnastics Coach for 15 years, travelling annually with the WA State team, and appreciates the importance of realistic and appropriate advice.

Simone loves racing in the Busselton and participates most years in the  Half Marathon and Jetty Swim in February each year and has completed Busso Ironman 70.3 in 2014 , 2015, 2017 and 2018.

Simone is available for individual consults on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings at Ascend Physio, and is available for presentations

 

Kirsten KPbioshot

Kirsten Pannekoek is an Accredited Nutritionist and aspiring sports dietitian. You may see her around as part of the nutrition works team as she’s currently doing work experience.

KP competed as part of the nutrition works team for the Busso Ironman 70.3 in May 2015 and 2016, smashing the swim leg, and has just retired from competitive swimming. KP’s last results at Australian Open Swimming Championships were a season best in 100&200m backstroke and a PB in the 50m. KP helped our nutrition works team to 2nd place at Busso 70.3 with a cracking time of 23 minutes for the 1.9km swim.

In between training and study, KP enjoys good food and getting creative in the kitchen.  As a bit of a self confessed ‘foodie’ she also runs @morningteawithkp, dedicated to her food adventures.

 Emmaemwalkey

Emma Walkey is an Accredited Nutritionist and is working towards becoming a Sports Dietitian, currently completing her Dietetics degree at Curtin University. She is a keen runner and cyclist, hoping to compete in her first triathlon this year! Emma has a strong interest in how nutrition can improve sporting performance and loves to teach people how to eat right to achieve their goals.

Emma is working regularly with Nutrition Works and will be out and about helping the team. She will be attending lots of events so keep an eye out for her friendly face .
